• Scott Cossel – Secretary
• Matt Torres
• Rhonda Houser
• Chris Banuelos
• Chris Bohling
Absent
• None
Opening
• Meeting commenced at 9:06am
Topic – Staff development month
• Committee determined staff development month should still take place
• One to two sessions per week in June would be optimal for better attendance • Do all staff have internet at home and want to use their personal time to do this? Given CARES act, KU will pay salaries. Staff would not have to use personal time.
• Length of sessions (probably one hour) – or ask what works for session holders. • Internet access – will be needed, but probably can’t get everyone.
• Chris Bohling willing to reach out and coordinate with some of the proposed session holders.
• Session ideas:
o Paul will ask Sheila Orth about doing a session on genealogy
o Chris Bohling will ask Robin Hastings about doing an Omeka session
o Rhonda can reach out to Greta Valentine about a research-sprints related session
o Yoga desk-side, Matt will reach out to Caroline Handwork at NEKLS
o Pet parade
o Chris Banuelos could do a session about digital reproductions
o Paul is planning to send an email to all staff outlining of our current plans, and see if anyone is interested in any other sessions or in holding a session
o Katie Varner might still be willing to do ergonomic ideas – Rhonda will contact o Dean Smith might be interested in a staff-focused Q&A session – Paul and Chris will reach out (one idea is the Dean could hold a session and then open the Pet Parade).
o Sharon Riley, Lars Leon and/or Mike Broadwell might be able to do a session about improving one’s CV (or advancing in one’s current position) – Scott will
explore
o Matt could still do a Microsoft Teams session
o Josh Bolick might do a scholarly communications session – Chris Bohling will inquire
o Sharon Riley might do personal coaching sessions – Matt will explore
o Marianne Reed might be interested in doing a “Trello as a project management tool” session – Rhonda will inquire
