  • LFSA updates
    • Dissolution of/folding into LSA of the Salary & Benefits committee still under consideration
      • Move to put it to a vote
  • Rebecca/Syd meeting with the Dean
    • Talent development funds,
      • Discussed making practices around tuition benefits more codified in policy
        • Brought the idea of potentially using talent development funds for other degree-related costs (materials, application fees, etc.)
      • Discussed talent development use and ties to performance evaluations
        • Should not be a demerit to use funds  
        • Suggestion for a departmental audit to send to admin regarding supervisors (potentially including student supervisors too) – anonymized staff evaluations of supervisors
          • Structured supervisor training to better familiarize them with resources and responsibilities
      • Early ideas for using funds for committee work/service as incentive to participate
  • Talent Development update
    • Winter Share-Out TBD
    • Tour of Lawrence Public Library is in development
  • Goals and priorities for this year
  • Student worker appreciation (aiming for late October/early November)
    • Has a budget, still being confirmed
      • OCA making merch
  • Student worker shadowing opportunities (spring)
    • Planned to have a sign-up sheet for staff to volunteer
  • LSA meet and greets
    • LSA info now part of onboarding
      • Possible budget for more informal meet-and-greets (info sessions with snacks, coffee-hours, etc.)
  • Fall General Assembly (November 17 at 1pm)
  • Topics for the Dean to address at assembly
    • Talent development, the new budget overall
  • New business
    • Potentially bolster Orientation Mentorship program
    • LSA presentation during all-staff meeting + general info gathering and sharing
      • Anonymous, long-answer survey
