MEETING MINUTES 

  • Announcements 

  • Marianne recommended attending the session on the Recommendations from the Docking Survey of UPS/USS Staff in Watson 3 West on September 21, 2023, from 2:00-3:00 pm. 

  • Staff Development 

  • Sharon Riley discussed potential career development opportunities from ComPsych. ComPsych is able to present a wide array of development sessions with 30 days notice. It will be available free of charge due to the Employee Assistance Program. Sessions are available in person or virtually. 

  • Group discussed the possibility of sending a poll via email to all staff to determine which sessions would be most useful.  May also consider taking a vote during the general assembly in November.  

  • Angela Andres reported that she and Whitney Baker have been considering offering exhibit support training. Unsure if limited to Libraries or also extending to partners like the Max Kade Center. Angela also suggested offering book structure workshops.   

  • Discussion about whether “Staff Development Day” should be a single day or multiple. Group suggested a mix of in-person and virtual events.  

  • Discussion of agenda for LSA General meeting 

  • Reports from staff serving on university governance 

  • Staff development opportunities 

  • Docking Survey
