Minutes from the Library Staff Assembly Executive Committee
May 2, 2024
Attending: Eric Bader, Tiffany McIntosh, Meredith Phares, Marianne Reed, Shelby Schellenger
MEETING MINUTES
The group drafted an email to send to all staff regarding the upcoming Jeff Stolz staff wellness presentation on June 12.
An LSA General Assembly was tentatively scheduled for June 5.
Agenda items include a code change regarding the Senate Libraries Committee; updates on the staff development webpage and career pathways webpage; a reminder of the Jeff Stolz event; introduction of new LSA Executive Committee members; and potentially a talk from the Dean.
Marianne asked the committee to begin preparing for the annual report, which cover the year’s events from July 2023 through July 2024.
Tiffany shared her thoughts from the latest New Staff meeting (attached, see second page)
Meredith noted that she would like to see more building orientation or open houses for new employees to help familiarize them with our spaces.
Tiffany also expressed interest in potentially starting a series about what various libraries employees do, similar to the Biblio Bios – this might be an email
The group discussed “personal branding” as a potential avenue for staff development – help on public speaking and presenting oneself as a representative of the Libraries
ACTION ITEMS
TIFFANY – Create a signup form for the wellness event and monitor responses.
MARIANNE – Contact the Dean about presenting/speaking at the LSA General Assembly.
BRIAN/MARIANNE – Talk to the Dean about supporting 360 evaluations and inform her about the “biographies”
