March 7, 2024 

Attending: Eric Bader, Tiffany McIntosh, Brian Moss, Meredith Phares, Marianne Reed, Shelby Schellenger

MEETING MINUTES 

  • LFSA web page updates  

  • Marianne provided an update on changes to the the LSA web page. Planning to add a “history” section with historical versions of the code and bylaws. 

  • Development Paths form feedback 

  • Many in the group felt that the process feels impersonal and could use more human interaction. Some felt that the Development Paths Form was intimidating and very thought-intensive.  

  • Status of the Talent Development webpage  

  • Tiffany showed screenshots of the in-progress Talent Development webpage, which she and Loren Bracciano have been working on.  

  • Next steps for Staff Development events  

  • Not much progress on this front due to time commitments elsewhere. Considering having a mental health seminar with Jeff Stolz, and perhaps using that as a starting point to see what else staff might have in mind for development. Tiffany will also raise the issue at the next new staff group meeting.  

  • Proposed code change re: USS and USS-only positions  

  • Marianne reported that plans are in place to amend the code to change USS-required positions to USS-preferred. The vote to approve will occur soon. 

 

ACTION ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING 

OWEN: Prepare history web page for presentation at the April LSA Exec meeting. 

TIFFANY: Ask new staff about staff development opportunities at the next new staff group meeting.  

SHELBY: Reach out to Jeff Stolz to start setting up a presentation.
