LFSA Exec - Minutes - August 17, 2021

Library Faculty and Staff Assembly Executive Committee 

August 17, 2021, 2:30 pm via Teams 

 

Attendees:

Angie Rathmel, Mary Raple, Scott McEathron, Jules Woodrick, Greta Valentine, Sara Morris   

  • Meeting called to order at 2:34 

  • Officers:

  • It was decided that Angie and Mary would serve as Co-Chairs; Scott and Jules will serve as Co-Vice-Chair; Sara and Greta will serve as Co-Secretaries 

  • Meeting schedules for the year 

  • The committee will meet on Tuesdays at 2:30 on the third week of the month 

  • Committee Appointment updates 

  • Angie and Mary will draft a call for members of committees. Liaisons will be decided on in the future 

  • Nominating and Ballot Committee—2 members 

  • Committee on the Code—2 members 

  • Committee on Research and Scholarly Activities—1 members  

  • Committee on Salaries and Benefits—2 members 

  • Old Business 

  • “LFSA Response to Re-entry”--A document shared with Cabinet from LFSA 

  • Mary and Jules’ meeting 

  • There is a category of Pandemic Essential Workers—which are not KU’s Essential Workers.  

  • There was discussion about recognizing the KU Libraries Pandemic Essential Workers and how to identify/define these people. Mary shared a list of ideas of ways to recognize them that were generated at previous meetings. This discussion will continue 

  • Angie and Scott’s meeting 

  • They talked about the document, but did not receive any new insight/answers 

  • Discussed how to approach the meeting on Thursday with Cabinet about the document. Also potential ways to clarify the content.  

  • New Business
