Library Faculty and Staff Association Meeting (LFSA) 

17 July 2018 

Present

(in alphabetical order by last name) were Neal Axton, Emily Beran, Sunita Gandhi,  Lars Leon, Betsaida Reyes, and Marla Schleuder. 

Introduction of Opening Remarks 

Leadership Roles 

The history of leadership for LFSA was discussed. 

The following appointments were approved by unanimous consent. 

Emily Beran and Lars Leon - Co-Presidents of LFSA 

Neal Axton and Marla Schleuder- Co-Secretaries of LFSA 

Sunita Gandhi - Vice Chair, LFSA 

Special Charges 

Marla Schleuder moved to create special charge to the Code Committee to determine if LFSA  Officers can also be LFSA Committee Members (not simply a liaison but an actual committee member). The Special Charge was approved by unanimous consent. 

Committee Nominations and Appointments 

LFSA Committee on the Code 

Appointment of Neal Axton as an interim member of the Committee on the Code pending  resolution of the Standing Charge. Approved by unanimous consent. 

LFSA Nominating and Ballot 

Jon Giullian (LFA) appointed. 

LFSA Salaries and Benefits 

Samantha Bishop Simmons (LSA) was appointed. 

Other members tabled for now. 

LFSA Committee on Research and Scholarly Activities (CRSA) 

Appointed Scott Cossel (LSA), Lyn Wolz (LFA), Lynn Ward (LSA), Andi Back (LFA), and  Mesha Hayes (LFA).

LFSA Committee Liaisons 

The following appointments were approved by unanimous consent. 

Nominating and Ballot - Betsaida Reyes 

Committee on the Code - Neal Axton  

Salaries and Benefits - Emily Beran 

Committee on Research and Scholarly Activities - Marla Schleuder 

Special Charges 

All other special charges were tabled. 

Scheduling 

LFSA General Assembly date discussed. 

Resolve to contact Vice Provost Jennifer F. Hamer about her availability for an LFSA  presentation.
