LFSA Exec - Minutes - October 6, 2017

LFSA Committee Meeting

Executive Board Members: Leah Hallstrom, Emily Beran, Karna Younger, Andi Back, Marla Schleuder,  and Lars Leon

Nate Chamberlain and Sherri Brown 

Agenda 

1. Approved minutes from August 29, 2017 

2. Liaison Reports: 

a. LFA: The Fall Assembly will be on Thursday October 12, 2017 10-11:30am in Watson  455. A potential agenda has been sent out on the listserv. 

b. LSA: Has updated their webpage and now have a governance landing page 

3. Communication Working Group Update: 

Promotional materials are being made to advocate the importance of service for LSA/LFA/and  LFSA. The committee plans to attend different library department meetings to promote governance service. The committee is also working on a survey to collect thoughts library staff  and faculty have regarding governance and plans to conduct in-person interviews. The survey  will be completed and sent out via email shortly after the November All Staff meeting.  Eventually survey results and information collected during interviews will be shared. 

4. Code Modifications: 

Sherri Brown gave background about the modifications made to the KU Libraries Governance  Code document. LFSA reviewed the document and voted unanimously to approve the modifications. 

5. SharePoint Update: 

Nate Chamberlain demonstrated the new SharePoint site for library governance.
