LFSA Exec - Minutes - March 21, 2024

Minutes from the Library Faculty & Staff Assembly Executive Committee 

March 21, 2024

MEETING MINUTES 

• Review of CRSA LRF Guidelines and discussion  

  • CRSA members were in attendance to discuss proposed changes to the LRF guidelines. 

  • Jill explained that the guidelines were due for update since they had not been updated since 2018. New changes to the guidelines were intended to generally broaden the number of funding opportunities available to faculty and staff.  

  • Marianne requested to share the draft guidelines with LSA Exec for feedback. 

  • Jill will prepare an updated document to share with the LSA and LFA executive committees 

•   Nominating & Ballot Committee has been asked to assemble a list of open committee slots by April 5th for the May LFSA/LFA/LSA ballots. 

  • Owen shared a look at the revamped document repository on the LFSA web page. Docx/PDF versions of current Code are now available. There is now an archival page with past Codes & LFSA charter documents.  

  • Brian shared the language regarding ex officio members of the University Senate Libraries Committee.  Currently LFA and LSA appoint three members: one faculty, one support staff, and one unclassified staff. There is some concern that the language in the Libraries Code of Governance may be out of sync with that of the University Senate Libraries Committee. Eric will bring suggestions for updated language for the Code concerning this committee forward to the next meeting for consideration.   

 

ACTION ITEMS 

MARIANNE AND MICHAEL – After CRSA incorporates feedback from the LFSA Executive Committee, bring updated CRSA draft guidelines to LSA and LFA Executive Committees for feedback 

ERIC – Examine the Code for references to the University Senate Committee on Libraries and how they align with that committee’s language regarding how LFSA’s selects ex officio members.
