July 10, 2023

Attending: Eric Bader, Jon Giullian, Brian Moss, Michael Peper, Sara Outhier (secretary), Marianne Reed

 

MEETING MINUTES

 

  • LFSA Exec meeting frequency/communication patterns
    • Action: Set up quarterly meetings and schedule additional meetings as needed
  • Orientation to LFSA and documentation/sites
    • Action: Marianne and Michael will sort out sites and make sure everyone is added
  • Committee appointments: 
    • Can we have a volunteer to go through the Code and identify committee slots that need to be filled?  Once we know what needs to be filled, we can call for volunteers.  Any ideas about people to approach directly before the call would be welcome!
      • Action: Eric volunteered to ID committees
  • Appoint liaisons from LFSA Exec to LFSA committees (Committee on the Code, etc.)
    • CRSA, Committee on the Code, Senate Libraries Committee
    • Action: Compile list of vacancies and put out a call for volunteers
    • Try to assign liaisons in August
    • Jon volunteered to liaise with CRSA
  • Appointment of a new webmaster
    • Include call for webmaster in call for liaisons
  • Monthly Dean meetings
    • Discuss faculty and staff surveys
  • Possible topics for this year:
    • Responses to faculty and staff surveys
    • LFSA General Assembly scheduling, structure and topics
    • Discuss status of Planning & Resources Committee and Salaries & Benefits Committee (currently on hiatus)
    • Review and follow up on Provost’s recommendations from Dean’s review that are applicable organization-wide and where governance can play a role. Including pursuit of governance representation on leadership teams in the Libraries
    • Advising/responding to on market survey on salaries.
    • Group agreed with this list of topics.
