LFA Exec - Minutes - August 17, 2021

Library Faculty Assembly Executive Meeting 

Tuesday, August 17, 2021, 11 am via Microsoft Teams 

Attendees 

  • LFA Executive Members: Angie Rathmel, Scott McEathron, Sara Morris, Erin Wolfe, Deborah Dandridge, Lea Currie 

  • Guests: None 

Agenda

  • Angie called the meeting to order at 11:03 

  • There were no minutes to approve 

Meeting schedules for the year 

  • Angie spoke about how she and Mary Rapple are trying to decrease redundancy at meetings and be strategic in scheduling   

  •  LFA Exec will have our monthly meeting on Mondays. Angie will set up a reoccurring invite 

Committee and liaison appointments 

  • Sara is the representative for LCPT 

  • Lea is the representative for SLPTR 

  • LFSA committee representatives will be decided on later. The following volunteered for LFSA committees: Salaries and Benefits—Deborah; Code and Bylaws—Erin  

Old Business 

  • Meetings with the Dean update 

  • Angie and Scott have met with Kevin 

  • During the meeting they discussed the “LFSA-Exec Response to Re-entry Plan” and the lack of faculty to serve on governance committees 

  • There was a general discussion among LFA Exec concerning how to resolve the problem of the lack of faculty to serve on committees. This will be something we address/investigate this year 

  • LCPT special election 

  • This is currently underway  

New Business 

  • General Assembly dates and agendas 

  • Discussion about future meetings and agenda topics  

  • Faculty Hiring plan 

  • Angie and Scott will ask about this at their next meeting  

  • There was a general discussion concerning the “LFSA-Exec Response to Re-entry Plan.”
