Action Items

1.   LFA Executive Board members should send Sara specific changes for the annual report by Wednesday, June 16th. Sara will send out the final draft of the annual report on Friday, June 18th for final review by LFA Executive Board members.

  1. Attendance
    • Present – Chair: Sara Morris, Vice Chair/Chair Elect: Karna Younger, Secretary: Rebecca Orozco, Member 1: Ada Emmett, Member 2: Sherri Brown, Member 3: Josh Bolick, Member at Large: Andi Back
  2. Minutes approved as is. Vote passed unanimously.
  3. Dean Meeting Update
    • Sara Morris and Karna Younger met with Dean Kevin Smith on June 5th. In the meeting they discussed the review of the Promotion and Tenure Procedures for the Faculty of The University of Kansas Libraries and Criteria for Academic Ranks of Library Faculty documents by Standards and Procedures on Promotion and Tenure, the Faculty Senate committee. Kevin has decided that University of Kansas Libraries (KU Libraries) will move forward with the new documents submitted to SPPT.
    • After discussion by LFA Executive Board members, Karna Younger moved to ask Kevin to document a summary of correspondence with the Chair of SPPT, Robert Sorem, Mechanical Engineering, about the review and approval of the KU Libraries' documents via email to the LFA Executive Board Chair. The motion was seconded by Josh Bolick. The motion passed unanimously.
  4. LFA Executive Committee Annual Report
    • LFA Executive Board members reviewed the draft of the LFA Executive Board's annual report written by Sara Morris. The report was changed in the following ways:
      1. Corresponding numbered bullets were added to the special charges and the special charges progress sections.
      2. The unclassified academic staff working group was moved to the other activities section from the special charges section.
      3. Language was added to the standing committees accomplishments section.
    • LFA Executive Board members should send Sara specific charges to the annual report by Wednesday, June 16th. Sara will send out the final draft of the annual report on Friday, June 18th for review by LFA Executive Board members.
