MEETING MINUTES

 

  • Approval of minutes from July meeting
    • Minutes approved
  • Liaison committee reports
    • Report from Andi in absentia: LCPT roles are assigned, ready to review files
    • Report from Scott: SLPTR will meet August 15 to begin committee work
    • Report from Jon: CRSA hasn’t met yet, but Jon will call the first meeting
  • Report from Dean-LFA chairs meeting
    • Michael and Jon met with Dean Smith, advocated for maintaining regular meetings with between Dean and governance and recommended that she take chair of LFA with her to meeting with Provost. Dean Smith is very focused on meeting library faculty and staff during first 90 days, and she is very focused on improving communication channels
    • Future topics for discussion: hiring librarians with PhDs, not enough full librarians to work on governance committees
    • Next meeting with Dean Smith is September 6. Send Michael any topic ideas
  • Webmaster update
    • Owen Murphy has agreed to serve as webmaster, a very important role for collecting and posting our documents
    • Owen is not set up as webmaster yet, but will be ready when orientation is done
  • New business
    • None at this time
