Minutes from meeting of the Committee on Research and Scholarly Activity January 14, 2021

Present: Carmen Orth-Alfie (chair), Scott Cossel, Rhonda Houser, Sara Outhier, Michael Peper, Mary Raple

Meeting Minutes

• The topic of discussion was mostly promoting and organizing materials for colleagues to apply for General Research Funds (GRF)
• Key dates: Submissions are due to CRSA on Feb. 19, CRSA will meet in the last week of February to discuss applications, CRSA to submit recommendations to the Office of Research by April 5
• Same allocation as last year: $14,562
• 3 applications in past year, 2 in year prior, each document is about 10 pages
• The committee edited the message to Libraries employees with information about the GRF, LRF and how to apply for each
• Need to update links and documents on the GRF information pages on the LFSA site
• CRSA would like to host an information session for potential applicants

Future Action

• Carmen will send a message to KULIB-L encouraging applications to LRF and GRF
• Carmen will schedule a meeting for CRSA to review applications during the last week of February
• Carmen will talk to Lars about a GRF information session, aiming for the last week of January, plan to record session for those who cannot attend
• Carmen will reinforce email message in All-Staff meeting on January 15
• Michael will ensure that links and documents are updated on the site
