April 12, 2017 CRSA Meeting

Present: Lea Currie, Marcella Huggard, Corinne Forstot-Burke, Sharon Riley Absent: Lyn Wolz

Reporting

  • Sharon has been in contact with Office of Research
    • Office of Research report due by April 30, 2017
    • Sharon will submit report
    • Include marketing and research forum information in report

Status of LRF and GRF

  • All LRF and GRF funds awarded
  • Quality of proposals very high
  • Becky Schulte resubmission of GRF to account for fringe salary - resolved
  • Office of Research had to fix some issues with GRF form – resolved
  • Total number of LRF awarded: 17
  • All agreed that GRF guidelines were acceptable as written

Marketing

  • Publicity of LRF and GRF awards has been effective in generating grant requests and ensuring that all funds were expended for the year
  • Research sharing forum
    • Well attended
    • People presented on research they had recently presented at conference followed by group discussion
    • Speakers included Brian Moss, Greta Valentine, Callie Branstiter
  • Research Support Groups
    • Writing groups, writing space
    • Regular email reminders to library staff regarding research support services and spaces helpful

Administration

  • Google docs for CRSA will be moved to Sharepoint
  • CRSA members
    • Lea, Corinne, and Sharon continue
    • Marcella came in for Sophia mid-term, would like to continue on. Need guidance from Governance on how to facilitate this
    • Lyn cycles off committee
    • Meetings – shouldn’t need to meet again this FY since all funds are expended
