CRSA Minutes - November 4, 2024

CRSA Meeting 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM

 

In attendance – Phil Cunningham, Amber Ovsak, Jaime Groetsema Saifi, MC Mack, Brian Moss, Paul Thomas, Eric Bader

 

6-7 LRF Applications have already been received and approved. 

 

Committee Officers – 

Brief discussion of responsibilities and duties of co-chairing CRSA

Chair / Co-Chair – Phil & Jaime

Secretary – Amber

Discussion about the value of having the minutes/notes posted on the website. Everyone agreed that providing these in the annual report was sufficient. If needed, it is indicated on the website that people can request these. 

Programming Discussion: What should we do this year?

  • Invite faculty to talk about projects that they have used LRF funds for?
  • Mention of inviting Carmen to demonstrate how she is using AI tools that she used GRF for?
  • Discussion of new funding opportunities and how we can work alongside this and mention of funding flowchart
  • Option of a GRF brainstorming session (Faculty must be the main writer for GRF, but staff can also work on this) If we did this, it would have to be before April.
  1. January – LRF/GRF Information Session (Carmen can speak to the research she has done)
  • Jaime said that she would take a stab at the funding flowchart notes & Paul said that he would see about reserving Watson 455 sometime at the end of January.
  1. Quick discussion of the potential to do a presentation or workshop on creative works or projects.
  • Ultimately, our end goal is to make people aware of this funding and make it available. 

Phil would like to get CRSA information into the onboarding process to meet with new staff & faculty within their first few months of employment to ensure they are aware of the opportunities for funding.
