Committee on Research and Scholarly Activity CRSA

Meeting, 11/04/2022

  1. No special charges from LFSA. Need to check whether CRSA needs a staff person to serve on the committee.
  2. Elspeth Healey will serve as Chair (she has already been doing some work for CRS). Jon Giullian will serve as Secretary
  3. Set due date for GRF applications, Monday, February 27, 2023.
  4. Discussion about promotion of GRF applications
    1. Need to mentor people; maybe a different mentor willing to work with people on research projects.
    2. CRSA will sponsor an info session with previous recipients. Samantha will spearhead the next info session. Potential date during early January before start of spring semester.
    3. One sub-committee will offer feedback on applications pre-submission, and a separate sub-committee will review applications. Same people cannot not serve on both committees. Makes sense to follow the same protocol this year.
  5. Reviewed CRSA’s site in MS Teams
    1. Reviewed various pages
    2. discussed the 3-year review for the GRF
  6. Reviewed LRF application review procedures.
  7. Current committee members are Carmen Orth-Alfie, Elspeth Healey, Jon Giullian, Jill Becker
