Agenda – GRF Check-in

April 5 – We must have our recipients submitted to Kelly Baysinger at the KU Office of Research. We will send the spreadsheet with recipient, title and amount of money. They will create the cost center.

We currently have 3 applications that have been submitted. 

  1. Andi Back – $6320.00

Research will focus on Osa Johnson and will be a component of her sabbatical research project. These funds will provide travel accommodation and cover research at the Safari Museum in Chanute. 

  1. Whitney Baker – $7,190.40 

Looking for funds to support a student worker to help with the project on heavy metals in books. 

  1. Milton Machuca-Galvez $3,200.00

We cannot help with the purchase of the scanner that is requested because the intention is to leave the scanner in Panama and that cannot be funded unless the equipment remains the property of the university. It was determined that we need more information on Milton’s research objectives. Phil will reach out and ask that Milton provide additional details on this research by Friday, March 28. We will move forward from there.

 

It was agreed to move forward with all three recipients, contingent on additional details for Milton’s research and the removal of the funding for the scanner.
