Important Upcoming Dates:

02/26/2024: GRF submission deadline
04/05/2024: Notification to the Office of Research final date for the GRF

04/07/2024: Notification of GRF Award

05/07/2024: Panel discussion: Book Publishing

Agenda:

  1.  Previous meeting’s minutes accepted.
  2.  GRF - No applications have been received, so we had a quick discussion regarding whether there were technical hiccups. It looks like the instructions ask the applicants to download and email to the committee chair. Questions about extending the deadline. The new deadline is Monday, March 18. [deadline extended until March 31]
  3. LRF guidelines – In good shape to send off the guidelines with track changes to Carol. We need to schedule announcements to send out.  Jon mentioned that it is important to share the guidelines with the LFA and LFSA Executive Chairs before it goes to Carol. The language that was of particular concern was “librarians” and those who have “research” as part of their responsibilities. It was agreed to share this document with them before sharing it with Carol.  The question of annual review was discussed and the merits of this regularity. This will be addressed in the email to LFSA.
  4. Book Publishing Panel – on May 7 at 1:00 PM. Paul Thomas, Josh B. and Milton. We will talk with the panelists a few weeks before this is scheduled to go over talking points, etc.
  5. Next LFSA Exec. meeting will be held March 21 – we will try to schedule a meeting after that to provide time for them to review the document and provide feedback.
