LRF Guidelines Revision

Marianne led us through some of the suggested revisions.

Question about the relevance of the “project advancements and outcome”. Jill explained that the request needed to specify research. P.C. elaborated that the funds need to be to support research and not service, which is specific to faculty. This piece of the guidelines is meant to provide additional information on how the funds are going to be used to support research. Marianne suggested that this piece be changed because it doesn’t look the same for staff who are doing research. It was suggested that this functions as a barrier to accessing funding. It was suggested that this be deleted but reiterated in the application form or moved to another part of the guidelines.
Other piece regarding conference registration was suggested that it needed to stay
Added “books” to publishing fees

Jill will keep the draft and track changes so that Carol can see the original with the changes. She will send it on to Carol.

Approval of minutes from last meeting.

Update for LFA Spring Meeting – It is on Monday and Jill is on the agenda to discuss these changes to the guidelines. She plans to give the gist and not get into a lot of the details.
