LIBRARY STAFF ASSEMBLY (LSA) EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING MINUTES

April 26, 2022

• Meeting commenced at 1:02pm 

Action Items

• MR: advocate that the Dean explore evaluation-rating trends across the Libraries. This would be for the Dean’s own informational purposes and not shared with LSA-Exec 

Agenda 

Committee approved minutes from 30-March-2022 meeting, with no changes, by unanimous consent

Staff Development workshop Navigating Stress Successfully (hosted by Sharon Riley) set for Friday, 29-April-2022

  •  Lunch will be provided, for anyone who RSVP’d, at 11am in Watson 3West
  • Sharon provided handouts to Mary to set out in Watson 3-West prior to the workshop
  • Marianne will monitor the chat, and time, during the presentation d. Mary will collect names for Sharon in order to send follow-up resources (and/or Sharon will share them with all-staff)

Pending ideas for future staff development opportunities

  • Methods to unplug and decompress, at the end of the day, is a potential topic

  • Something connected to the Libraries’ Juneteenth-centered Day of Reflection (which is not a day off)

  •  Hold a day (or half-day) of service

  • Archeological Education Training Program will be at the Brown v. Board museum from June 3rd – 18th (registration deadline is 31May and is first-come, first-serve)
  • Dyamond created a list and share for discussion with the Dean

LSA elections

  • The Nominating and Balloting committee is communicating with Mary and Angie (LFSA co-chairs). Calls for committee service is forthcoming

May 2022 Meeting with the Dean topics

  • Explore adding governance representatives to the Libraries’ OMF committee
  • LSA-Exec committee would like to suggest to the Dean that he survey evaluation-ratings trends for staff across the Libraries. LSA-Exec does not request access to this information, but believes this would be helpful for the Dean.
