Attendees:

Agenda:

  • Meeting called to order at 9:03 am

  • Minutes from 8/17 approved (with changes) by unanimous consent

  • LFSA committees, Annual Reports, and appointment of liaisons/first meetings

  • Angie appointed liaisons to LFSA committees

  • Committee on the Code – Scott M.

  • Committee on Salaries and Benefits - Jules W.

  • Nominating and Ballot Committee - Greta V.

  • Committee on Research and Scholarly Activity - Sara M.

  • LFA – Sara M.

  • LSA – Mary R.

  • Angie will share the list of members on each.  Liaisons were asked to schedule a first meeting with their respective committee’s members, with the agenda to select a committee chair and secretary, and review current membership, terms of appointment, and the previous year’s annual report.

  • LFSA Exec reviewed the annual reports of several LFSA committees (LFSA Exec, CRSA, Salaries & Benefits, Committee on the Code, Nominating and Ballot). LFSA Exec has yet to review the LFA and LSA annual reports.

  • LFSA Exec did not recommend any formal special charges for these committees at this time. A few considerations and general reminders:

  • For committees such as CRSA that have time-sensitive deadlines and application forms on the website, liaisons should remind committee members about the upcoming LFSA website migration to the new CMS. Committee members should ensure anyone using the application forms has access to a current, working form before materials are due.

  • Angie, as 2020 LFSA Executive liaison to S&B, provided additional context regarding S&B 2020 work on equity report and sent recommended edits to include in the S&B Annual Report. LFSA Exec discussed S&B primarily concentrating on the promotion of benefits for FY22.

  • LFSA Exec looked at suggested special charges from the LFSA Executive Committee’s FY21 annual report and are considering pursuing the charge to explore methods for a bottom-up review of supervisors by their supervisees within the library.

  • Angie and Mary to reach out to the Provost’s office to check in about the timing of Dean Smith’s 5-year review

  • Meeting adjourned at 10:36 am
